Implant Warranty

Caring for Your Dental Implants

At High Plains Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, we want your dental implants to last. Implants are a long-term investment in your smile, and just like natural teeth, they need consistent care and maintenance to stay healthy and strong.

Why Follow-Up Visits Matter

Regular check-ins are essential to protect the health of the tissues that support your implants. Skipping these visits can increase the risk of infection or bone loss — which may lead to implant or restoration failure. Staying on top of your follow-ups helps ensure your implants remain healthy and functional for years to come.

Annual Implant Evaluations

To keep your implants in great shape, we’ll need to see you at least once a year for a professional implant evaluation. During these visits, we’ll take necessary X-rays, provide localized cleaning around your implants, and check your bite to make sure everything is balanced and comfortable. These visits do not replace your regular dental checkups with your general dentist (if applicable).

Protecting Your Smile at Night

We highly recommend using a nightguard to protect your implants and restorations from grinding or clenching while you sleep. This small step can make a big difference in ensuring the long-term success of your overall treatment.

Tobacco and Vaping

Using tobacco or nicotine products (including vaping) after implant placement can significantly increase the risk of implant failure. Because of this, continuing to use these products after treatment will void your implant warranty.

Your Implant Warranty

Keeping up with your follow-up appointments is key to maintaining your implant warranty. Missed visits, excessive wear, or stress on restorations can affect your warranty coverage.
If a properly maintained implant ever fails, it will be replaced at no cost for the implant itself. However, a new restoration (such as a crown, bridge, or denture) require standard lab and material fees, which are due at the time of replacement.

Staying on Schedule

When it’s time for your implant check-up, our team will reach out to schedule your visit. You’re welcome to choose a time that’s convenient for you, but please don’t delay care by more than 45 days from your recommended interval.
And remember — these visits are in addition to your regular checkups with your general dentist.

If Something Feels Off

If you ever notice changes, discomfort, or anything unusual around your implants, please contact our office right away. Early attention can make all the difference in protecting your smile.
