Meet Dr. John J. Schuetz, DDS, MDS, MS

Dr. Schuetz is a proud member of both the Southwest Society of Periodontics and the American Academy of Periodontology. Most recently, Dr. Schuetz has completed his residency at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) Periodontology Program, earning his Master of Science in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. He went to dental school at the esteemed The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Dentistry, in Memphis, TN. Dr. Schuetz is also a LANAP & BIOLASE Repair Certified Periodontist.

Making the recent move to Lubbock with his beautiful wife Ashley, and their three dogs, Dr. Schuetz looks forward to settling into our community. He plans to spend his time outside of work, staying active outdoors. He loves hunting, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, snow skiing, fishing, camping and playing basketball, just to name a few.

In school, he was known for his surgical precision, ability to break down complex treatment plans into something patients could easily understand, and the trust he built with both patients and mentors. Dr. Schuetz’ passion for implants, soft tissue management, and advanced techniques helped shape his path, but it was the relationships he built that left the biggest mark.

Dr. Schuetz: “The most rewarding part is seeing a patient light up after treatment, whether it is because they can finally eat their favorite food again, smile without hesitation, or feel relief after years of discomfort. For me, it is never just about fixing teeth or bone. It is about restoring function, confidence, and sometimes even dignity. I especially enjoy taking on complex cases and partnering with patients to build treatment plans that feel right for their goals and lifestyle. There is nothing more fulfilling than watching someone regain not just their health, but a renewed sense of self.”
